Judge Amanda Matzke graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993 and Baylor School of Law in 1996. She served as an Assistant County Attorney in Brazos County, Texas from 1996 until she was elected to serve as Judge of County Court at Law #1 from 2007 to present. She was the President of the Texas County Court at Law Judges Association from September 2012-September 2013. In September 2013, she was elected for a three year term on the Board of Directors for the Judicial Section of the State Bar where she served on the Legislative Committee and Ethics Committee. She remains on the Ethics Committee and has served as chair of that committee since 2019. Currently, she is the local administrative county court at law judge for Brazos County, serves on the Budget Board for the 2nd Administrative Judicial Region, as the chair of the Ethics Committee for the Judicial Section of the State Bar and serves on the Nominations Committee for the Texas Center for the Judiciary.
